ShipManager’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS) is arguably the most comprehensive maintenance planning system in the industry. A number of smart features and tools have been incorporated into the system to facilitate efficient management of maintenance planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.

ShipManager’s PMS is very tightly integrated with the other key modules of the ShipManager suite such as the purchase, inventory, accounting, repair and dry docking modules. When a ship staff keys in the number of units of spares/stores/oil consumed during a particular maintenance, the corresponding inventory (ROB) record gets automatically updated. Such tight integration further improves operational efficiency and eliminates instances of procedural duplication and redundancy.

Besides, there are tools that have been specially designed to help ensure compliance with arguably every conceivable industry standard and regulatory audit, including but not limited to TMSA, Solas, ISM, Class and Flag state control surveys.

A snapshot of the key features and capabilities of ShipManager’s Planned Maintenance System is as follows:

The main components of ShipManager are:

  • Listing of critical equipments and maintenances
  • Ability to manage vessel inspection and condition reports, complete with exhaustive graphical analysis
  • Scheduling of predictive maintenance based on Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) analysis.
  • Very tight integration with the purchase, inventory, accounting, repair and dry docking modules
  • Facility for superintendents to report observations made during visit to vessels and to upload other related pictures/attachments
  • Specialized tools to ‘mark’ images of equipments to facilitate minimal data transfer
  • Supports easy assignment and tracking of Condition Monitoring jobs
  • Maintenance forecasting
  • Ability to generate and print job cards
  • Provision to defer maintenance and submit reasons for deferring
  • Dedicated section for tracking results of safety machinery alarms tests for both manned and unmanned machinery space ships
  • Scheduling for alerts / warnings to be issued in advance when a particular issue becomes due/overdue.
